Default Northern Pintail

All of the waterfowl in my area have been spreading out into the Sacramento Valley into the rice fields to feed. So many of the ducks and geese with white fronts are stained orange from being in the mud and rice straw. This Pintail is a good example.

Beautiful capture of a beautiful bird, and interesting story as well.

Thank you very much.
Here is an early season Pintail before they spread out into the valley and get all dirty.

Yes, I am very lucky. Here is a link to the Refuge where I take most of my pictures. I live in the middle of the Pacific flyway and we get an amazing variety of waterfowl and other migrating birds here. Over 300 species of birds and mammals.
Thanks for your comments.

I really like the images with the reflections even with the stained feathers.
