Default Spring Frog

Out at a local school yesterday, sharing nature discovery with children. Of course they always discover more than I do, and a sharp-eyed student spotted the Spring Peepers out & active at the edge of a lttle schoolyard marsh. These tiny (about 1 inch long) frogs are about done singing for the year here already - but we have enjoyed their little bird-like voices. Notice the cross-shaped mark on the back (species name is Hyla crucifer).

Did not have time to take many photos (had to watch children more than critters!), but here are two views of our tiny amphibian neighbor:

(by the way, those little blue flowers are a common bloom these days in all the grassy places - called Veronica or Speedwell).

Looking forward to more signs of spring's return!!

Nice shots, Mole. I particularly like the textures in #2; that little spot of underbelly is great.
The blue flowers add a nice touch as well.
