Default Blue Heron?

I tried to clean these up, I was at 1000mm+ Zoom when I took these...

yep, it's a Great Blue, all right. looks like your noise reduction got a bit too aggressive... lost some of the feather detail on the sides of the bird. other than that, not too shabby for 1000mm +...

Thanks, I wish I could get closer...there's one that lands on my pond, but he fly's at the drop of a pin...and your right I had the Noise Reduction set to -1 on these shots...I got a better Teleconverter coming so hopefully I retain better detail in the future...

As far as 1000+ Zoom...there were several people that came by at that time and asked me what I shooting...I pointed across the lake at the Blue heron and they coudn't even find him out of 5 people...then I allowed them to see him in the LCD Screen...they were astounded at the reach of the 1.7x TC on the FZ35...
