Default Cedar Wax Wing

These guys were passing through and I had to zoom to probably around 3000-4000mm (Digital added to an already 1616mm Zoom) to get a picture and they would not land where I could get the sun on them...they get the red in their wings as they get older the younger ones don't have it...

What they should look like taken with a 7D:
1.)

2.)

3.)

The first with the 7D is very nicely done. What lens are you shooting with?

Can you please put a line space between each photo as that will make them easier to view, also it's helpful to number them when posting more than a couple so if people comment they just refer to the number rather than the 3rd from the bottom etc?

Thanks.

I have to agree, I did some comparisons against my 1DmkIII when I first added the 7D to my kit and it would perform better in these situations than the 1D. In general though the 1D still has the edge, but then we would hope that for the price difference, however for the cost the 7D is a great tool.

It's a Canon 7D Clint...super fast 8 fps...with an exotic AF system...it has confused a lot of people (including me) of recent as the AF System is most sensitive...great camera...

I like #2 - he looks like he's eating a choke berry - a real gob stopper.

Canon 7D - only $1799 with a lens at Walmart - I'll have to stick with FZ35 for a while longer.

Clint you get them for about $1400 on Ebay with Bing Cashback...one thing to remeber...top quality camera gear holds it's value VERY well, you can buy a $700 lens and then if you don't like it turn around and sell it for $650 easily last one I had was $676 and I sold it for $650 after using it a few times only nice lens just wasn't my piece o' cake...
