Default cardinal

caught this one on the trails today. not as sharp as i would like it to be, but i am just now learning how to use my 70-300 lens

It's a fine illustration of Mr. Cardinal in his habitat. Lighting was definitely against you, but you did well despite that.

I find it easier to use manual focus in situations like this - my camera's AF will invariably catch a tree branch instead of the bird!

yeah, i haven't gotten the courage to try MF yet. that was the first time i used the 70-300 lens and you are right. the af was jumping all over the place and the bird was a little hyperactive
