We've got House Sparrows - they are very common - but no House Finches. Typically less colours on our species, generally speaking

How close mus you come, with an unarmed eye, to distinguish between the females of House Sparrow and the females of the House Finch?

What do you go for - the finchyness and sparrowness or what?

Not very close at all, T. They are readily distinguishable at a fair distance. I go for finchyness This is a female.

Hey Gary, I was doing much better yesterday, the went into a coughing spell last night while trying to sleep and again today I've had several more spats of coughing, My gut is rebelling and I'm hoping I didn't do any serious damage.
