Default Immature Bald Eagle eating a duck

Captured this immature Bald Eagle having breakfast yesterday at the refuge. It was around 30F with a wind chill of around 15F. I stayed outside the truck for about 30min getting these shots and my hands were aching and numb by the time I got back into the cab and the heater.
I hope you enjoy these, and Happy Thanksgiving,
Steve

Catching it's balance in the wind and settling down to digest and survey all the geese and ducks that were there that day.

I'd say that eagle isn't going to starve to death

Beautiful shots!

Great series of pictures...that last picture of all the waterfowl...looks like an Eagle Buffet.

We have a wildlife preserve on the outskirts of our city and I've noticed that there is a large, lone tree right by one of the lakes that waterfowl congregate.

There are usually two, sometimes just one Bald Eagle(s) that seem to camp by the masses of geese and duck and pick them off, on a regular basis.

I've never been able to get close enough to get pictures of the Eagles, let alone get exceptional pictures such as yours.

Great pictures. Detail, exposure and subject matter is superb.

What a great set of shots...!

I take it that's the same group of birds from your "Blizzard" post...?

No wonder those birds are so nervous...!
