Default Out on a Limb

A new visitor - he's was on the ground trying to get a squirrel but the squirrel ran into a hole in the tree. He flew up on the limb and I had time to take a few shots.

I believe it's a sharp shinned hawk

Nice capture Clint. It's sometimes hard to get good focus thru small branches, and you also got good exposure on a subject that was basically back-lit. Well done.

Branches and lighting are hard to adjust sometimes. Leaving the camera on "spot" focus helps with the branches.

Yes and no------------ I do miss the greater zoom of the FZ35 but it's limited in the use of ISO. With the A55 I can't "zoom" in as much but I get better use of ISO and I can "crop" an equivalent of the FZ35 zoomed at 18x. I could also get a bigger lens. I'm using the Sigma 18-250 mm and find it adequate so far.
