I like them! They make me smile when they fly over and honk.

Great shots of the Canada Geese. There is a film somewhere of a Canadian who raised some Canada Geese and when they began to fly...flew with his little flock...he was in a light aircraft....one of those little snowmobile engined jobs....and he got some great moving pictures of the Canada Geese...close up...flying with him.

Fantastic captures JATB, made me smile.

Lesmore, the movie was called "Fly Away Home" - very uplifting and a box of Kleenex needed! Cheers Lyn

Very nice captures. Images are very sharp and great color and contrast. Your skills rule obviously, but what gear did you use for this?

Thank you all for the great ego boosting comments...I am glad you liked those...
I knew the Canadian friends would relate to these and I bet each one of you is thinking......Damn, those are our birds...hehehehe...Yes, you are, admit it.....

Jehan...These were shot with my old Canon 20D and the Canon 100-400mm L zoom...
I had been using my 50D to death and thought I would give the 20 a work out and was very happy with the results from this and several other shoots...The 20D is half the megapixels as the 50 but it sure takes a nice photo...I had almost forgotten how good it was...These were also taken using RAW...I am one of those hold outs, (lazy really) from going to RAW...But I decided to try it and was very please with how easy it is to do photoshop with the shot...So I guess I am going to have to suck it up and go with RAW for now on....

I've heard that the 100-400 L is a great lens! The results show.
