Default Cleanup detail.

The Turkey Vulture is pretty common site around here, they are commonly seen circleing the landscape gliding along on the updrafts and scanning for a free lunch. A bird of opportunity that serves us well along the waterways and removes the winter kill of fish lying upon the shorelines. Up close they are a nasty looking breed and carry a not so pleasent aroma along with them.

Beautiful shots of an ugly bird . We have these flying over us occasionally but rarely come low enough for a photograph. Which lens are you using here?

This year we have experienced alot of these....in groups of fifty or more. Iam learning the 300 f4 with the 1.4 TC on a full frame. Next time Ill have to try it on a DX sensor to get in a bit closer.

Great shots. 50 are more, wow, that's a lot of big birds in the sky.

Great color and detail. Over the winter we get groups (flocks?) of vulture reaching in the hundreds that hang out in a local park. We don't get many turkey vultures though.

Nice shots. I see these all the time too but like Saly, they rarely get close enough for shots like this.
