Default Texas Red Tail

....I had the good fortune to see and photograph this Red-Tailed hawk this morning at one of our city parks.

Beautiful shots of a beautiful bird! Must be hot, looks like he is panting.

Thanks saly, At the time (0900) the temp was about 90F. We are now 17-days at 100+F, the wildlife does suffer, but where this hawk is there is much shade and water, a small lake.

Thank you for commenting.

Nice shots. They seem to have quite a short tail.

The red-tail (sometimes referred to as 'Chicken Hawk') is rather stocky with a short, stout tail. In full spread soaring posture it shows as compact and powerful. The red-tailed hawk is seen in a variety of colors and markings too, but the tail is usually a rust color sheen.

Not only the bird but the entire scene / setting is awesome. This is one I will bookmark.
