I saw this last spring, I heard the call, looked up and got the shot.



I didn't want him pooping on my head so I moved on.

This Red-shouldered Hawk (not a falcon) looks to be annoyed at something or someone!

Great pic, how far up was he? They always look so much bigger than I thought they were when I see them up close as opposed to soaring 100 feet in the air. that's a wicked talon peeking over the branch too

@bil He was up high in a tree and this is a tight crop.
@penolta, Thanks for the correction, I am famous for naming things incorrectly. Once I get the real name I very rarely forget and now know the names of many birds with help from people like you.
