Default Black-necked Stilts

These Black-necked Stilts were about 150 yards out and not quite grouped close enough together to get them all in good focus but I liked the composition so I tried my best to get some sharp shots. I am not completely happy with the results but, not bad I guess. I was using a Nikon d7000 with a Nikon 200-400mm VR lens and a 1.4 teleconverter. They were shot out the window of my truck (makes a good photo blind while on the auto tour at the refuge) using a photo bean bag to rest the lens on.

Thanks for looking, Steve

I've never seen this bird, it is quite interesting and I am thinking they are larger than they seem to me here. One thing for certain, they are 'cute', that is the best term I can come up with.

Well done at that distance.

These are great Steve and well done for your ability to get the shots resting on a bean bag.
Love the "doey" look on the bird standing by itself and the reflections of the legs making them look super long.

Haha, thanks. The long legs aspect is the first thing my wife mentioned.
