Default A near miss and a pretty good one

I was outside with my 45-200mm and saw this beautiful Kestrel just outside the reach of the lens. Then, a large Red Tailed Hawk kicked him out. Then, the hawk took off in my direction! My best hawk BIF to date, although his wings got clipped. I wish I at least had the 300mm, because Kestrels are hard to find perched like this, and they are beautiful.

#1 American Kestrel

#2 Red Tailed Hawk

#3 Hawk BIF!!

The hawk is beautiful, well caught. It is a case of being in the right place.

Great shots. I wish I were as lucky to get something like that.
