Default Staring at another two months of winter.

Cow moose, and last spring's calf. These aren't looking too bad. This winter has been extremely tough on the moose. Many are starting to look pretty ragged and it'll be at least two months before their diet will consist of anything but browse and be able to gain any weight lost through a grueling winter.

As you can see from this photo, they're eating the browse back pretty well and starting to strip bark off the trees. At this particular location it wasn't bad. At some other places that I'd been earlier in the day it was looking pretty well picked over.
