We have them on this side of the pond too (the Bombycilla garrulus; very similar) Here they're called "Sidensvans"
(eq "Silk Tail")

I like that you resisted the temptation to increase contrast. Or perhaps you wouldn't even have felt the temptation - even better. There's too much pp going on in the cottages late nights

Anyhow, those pictures are beautiful and very, very special

nice shots. We are annually visited by a crew of cedar wax wings who eat all the crab apples off our tree in a matter of a day or two.

These shots were using my old cannon powershot a410 P&S but figured I'd share them anyways.. in this first one you can see 9 or maybe more birds all in the tree at the same time.
