Those are just awesome. While technical perfection is usually desired it's not always required for a great photograph. After spending some time stalking these birds I actually like the 2nd shot alot. They are uncanny in their ability to spot observers and if there isn't at least some foliage between you and them they spook. So the 2nd shot really gives me the same feeling as if I was out there observing it, as opposed to a 'perfect' tack sharp no obstruction shot. I think capturing the feel and beauty of a moment with a camera is more art than science, and I think you've succeeded wonderfully here. Bravo!
