Default Raptor Close-ups

I had the opportunity to attend West Coast Falconry's "Hawk Walk" back in May. Here are some close up shots of a few of the raptors in their care.

First up is "Draga" she is a Lanner Falcon common to Africa. She is beautiful.

This Peregrine Falcon had lots of personality and attitude as well.

We actually got to glove up and work with this beautiful Harris' Hawk "Diego" Man that was cool.

A shot of me catching Diego and then a shot of us together.

Another close up of Draga.

Draga and I becoming friends. She was such a cool bird.

I love the second one. He looks like he's about to attack.

Steve, great detail in the portrait shots... indeed so amazing to see them up so close.

Wow... what an experience to see the birds and even handle them. (I like your smile in the 3rd photo in the 2nd post).

I had a similar experience about 15 years ago in Tasmania, Australia (where I grew up)... of a brown eagle that had been injured and was rehabilitated.

Cheers! (And I also like #2, that bird does indeed have 'attitude'!)

Nice names "Diego" and "Draga".

Paul

Thank everyone for taking the time to take a look and for leaving your comments. I really appreciate them.

Here is a link to the rest of the gallery which includes some flight shots of Diego if you are interested.
