Default Rocky Mountain Wildlife

Saw these during my July 2012 travels to Rocky Mountain National Park. All images taken with the Nikon D90 & Tamron 18-275 VC Di II lens. My scenic series is posted in the travel section at http://forums.steves-digicams.com/tr...-6-images.html

#1. Saw Elk on our many hikes. This one however was spotted during our drive across the park on Trail Ridge Road.

#2.Saw this Yellow Bellied Marmot on our hike to Flat Top Mouintain.

#3. Same for this Ptarmigan which did not seem bothered by my proximity.

#4. Mule Deer taking care of bizness ...along the Cub Lake Trail.

Those are great, really like the marmot. I'm very jealous, I was supposed to go there next week but had to cancel. That winding marmot stretch above treeline on flat top is my favorite hike ever. Did you run into any travel problems with the wildfires?

Thanks Bil. No issues with wildfires in the Estes Park area. Most of the fire activity was south of that area. Hope you get to reschedule your visit...this was my second visit and the trek up to Flat Top Mouuntain was the highlight.

JJ: Thanks for your comments.
