Default Banded Ross's goose

I reported this banded Ross's goose I found on Feb 18th and just got the report back. He was hatched in 2002 or earlier. Banded 08/06/2003 9miles SE of Johnson Point, Nunavut, Canada. He was spotted by me at the Colusa NWR viewing platform. Which means that over his life he has flown a little over 40,000 miles during his ten migration cycles. That's a little over 1 and a half times around the world since 2003. Wow! Way to go Bucky.

Good catch! Steve! Too bad this fellow doesn't get any frequent flyer miles.

Thanks to you both for your comments. I agree, that's got to be a heck of a journey.... twice a year.
