this little green-winged teal was lovin' bath time...

Your park has more varieties of water fowls than my park. All we have are Mallards and Coots! Excellent pictures!

Love the Teal shot! While I have seen them many times they never seem close enough for a decent shot, let alone one like this. Well done.

thanks, WCKSer. this place has loads of different fowl. a variety of different kinds of duck depending on season - we get wood ducks, mallards, green-winged teals, scaups, ringnecks, buffleheads, gadwalls, widgeons, and occasionally pintails and cinnamon teals. and, of course, coots... there are also mergansers - hooded and common - cormorants, herons, grebes, snipes, rails, hawks, eagles... and that doesn't begin to count all the swallows, blackbirds, warblers, wrens and finches that hang out there... it's one of the top birding sites in the state, and it's not too hard to get close-up shots, either...

thanks, John. this one doesn't really show the colors as well as some of the others i've gotten there, but the little fella did come relatively close...
