Default Breakfast with Aussie Black Cockatoos

G'day all

Each morning during my neighbourhood walk, I see lots of black cockatoos feeding in the tree tops. Today I took the camera and swapped my '10,000 steps-a-day exercise program' for 'I am going to have some fun' program

Now there's no secrets here - the screeching can be heard miles-away, and here's the other give-away that they're overhead ...

The birds are in the very top of the radiata pines and mostly are hard to see

But they get up to some amazing exploits of dare-devil & trapeze artist activity at the ends of the branches

Then comes the 3-course breakfast - these pine nuts are very hard: you could almost hammer a nail with them

and yet these fellas make short work of them ...

exif - Fuji X-s1; tree-top images at about 500mm; birds at 625mm then cropped 50%; typical exposure 1/800s x f8,0; iso-800; all hand held

As always, comments welcome
Phil

Very nice Phil, I get the red tailed variety in my neighbours tree, very noise, very messy but a great sight.
