Default Surf Scoters at the Oakland Estuary

I drove across the Fruitvale Bridge over the Oakland Estuary today. I couldn't help to stop off at the shopping center on the Alameda side to take a look.
Normally there is nothing on the water but today is a rare exception: there was a whole lots of Surf Scoters (about 60) swimming and feeding there.

Nice find. It's always cool to find surprises like that.

We have an unusual large number of Surf Scoters in the Oakland/Alameda area this winter. They are everywhere and easy to photograph.
