Default Common Yellowthroat

Hello again one and all. My posting today is of one of my favorite birds, the Common Yellowthroat. Most elusive, one must have great patience to capture this bird with your camera. They like to stay hidden low in the bushes only coming out in the open (very briefly). I have learned to recognize their call which helps me to locate them but most often you will never see them. I have photographed them at Bolsa Chica wetlands, Fullerton arboretum & at San Joaquin wildlife refuge in Irvine CA where they are most abundant. The 4 photos posted span about 3 years with the 2nd photo taken just this past Sunday. Hope you like, comments & questions appreciated.

cute little fellas... also rather 'twitchy', and hard to catch sitting still. they like to hang out deep in the thickets or tall grass, and pop out just long enough to tantalize you, then disappear before you can get a shot...

Out where the rivers like to run, I stand alone, and take back something worth remembering...
