Default "91" - the resident red-tailed hawk at my favorite park (7 images)

we call him "91" because that's the number on the band around his ankle. he's not really a "resident", but he hangs out there a lot, and i've seen him there frequently for the past several years. he caught himself a garter snake, and flew up into an alder tree, lighting on a limb about 50 feet away, where he proceeded to start eating his catch. these have had minimal processing, just brightening up the shadows a bit to bring out the details, and resizing...

these first two shots are uncropped, full-frame images with the 7D and 100-400L @ 400mm...

these images a cropped slightly...

after a while, he turned around and posed with his trophy for a bit...

finally, he got tired of the spectators, and flew off to eat the rest of his meal in peace...

Out where the rivers like to run, I stand alone, and take back something worth remembering...

Nice series. #91 sports the bling quite nicely. The snake looks pretty tasty also.

Awesome shots Rocky. Ol' 91 looks like he's making out pretty well. Nice work.
