Default white-crowned sparrow

spotted this little fella foraging in the grass yesterday while waiting for the osprey to come back... 7DII, 150-600 @ 600mm, 1/400 @ f/7.1

Gorgeous CLEAR photo. Very nice. Are you always shooting in manual mode? How did you learn to use your camera so well?

thanks, Lotuslady! do i shoot in manual? no, i shoot in Av mode 95% of the time. i do use the exposure comp on the rear command wheel, which sorta acts like shooting manual, but that's about as close as i get most of the time. how did i learn to use my camera so well? practice! lots and lots of practice! and, of course, hanging out on various forums and asking questions, especially early on when i was just getting into it...
