Default an hour with the pileated woodpeckers

went back to the park where i'd gotten shots of the pileated woodpeckers before, and they were very much in evidence. it seems they decided to move their nest hole, though... the first one was apparently a little to close to the path, and too exposed. the new one is farther back from the path, about twice as far off the ground, and quite a bit less visible from the path. but i was able to get a number of photos from different angles. here are 3 of the images i got... will post more later. pretty dim in there, even on a bright day, so these were all shot at ISO 3200...

taken from the path - the nest is harder to spot now, and can only be seen from the path through this gap in the branches. 600mm, 1/640 @ f/8

this one was from about 15 yards away. you can see the wood chips flyin'... this little guy was workin' it! 500mm, 1/200 @ f/6.3

the missus showed up to check on his progress... i think she was telling him he needs to work harder! LOL! 550mm, 1/320 @ f/8
