Default flicker in some pretty light

got this shot of a male red-shafted flicker resting on a piece of "heavy equipment" near the osprey nest yesterday... he landed and posed real nice for me in some beautiful golden light... 7DII, 550mm, 1/1000 @ f/8

Out where the rivers like to run, I stand alone, and take back something worth remembering...

I have a hate/love relationship with the flicker woodpeckers. I do think they are gorgeous and have seen them perform their mating dances on numerous occasions but they are so destructive! They have wrecked so many birdhouses and have added numerous holes in a large swing I put up.

Great photo!
