Default American dipper

these little guys are easy to find, hard to photograph... they don't often hold still, and are often found in dimly-lit areas along the banks of rivers and streams. i caught this one during a relatively quiet moment along a side channel of the Nooksack River. a fill flash helped with the lighting in the first one...

thank you! these little guys are challenging, because they move around a lot, and usually hang out in dimly lit places where it's hard to get a fast shutter... i was fortunate enough to catch this one during a relatively quiet period so i could get away with slower shutter speeds...
