Well done. I like how the feathers produce a halo around its head. Was that intentional?

And you did a good job metering an otherwise tough subject.

eric s, the shot was just luck although I'm sure she knows which is her best side:-)

The exposure was 2 layers, 1 for the shadow side & one for the bright side on the right. I shoot canon raw & simply adjusted the two shots & did some erasing of the darker left side....

This is a wonderfully detailed shot, hodad66! Like bobbyz, I'd like to know what type of bird that is. It sort of looks like a leucistic (very light, but not albino) emu, rhea, or ostrich...

Absolutely wonderful, as usual with your photos!

PS - I think it's a Phyllis Diller Bird, and immature one. You honestly don't want to see the mature one. It's incredibly horrible.
