I have a pair of hummers coming to my feeder. Yesterday I got lucky as one of them let me come pretty close to take some shots.

Resized for web, in this one, I cloned out the feeder.

Here is 100% crop of one of the shots. I was hitting the Min. focussing distance of my lens. I was so close.

Hi bobby - I like the second shot the best because the pose of the hummingbird is the most interesting. They are all good though. The detail in the feathers in the last picture is phenomenal and is similar to what I can get when I take pictures of my wife's African Lovebirds - but they aren't wild and I can get very close to them...

What kind of camera and lens are you shooting these birds with?

I'm in love (not with you, with the bird)

Wow, bobby

With that touch of red on the bottom of the second one you have created an absolute masterpiece. These are the best hummers I have ever seen, to date. Nice work!
