Nothing much in the local park near my home except some killdeer and black birds. So I decide to take some killdeer shots but these guys run the moment they see me. I decide to sit on the gound and slowly edge towards them. Here is what I got, heavily cropped & reduced in size a bit for the web.

I wish that blue dumpster wasn't there in the BG. I tried to clone it out but my PS skills aren't good.

Some more at http://bobbyz.smugmug.com/gallery/229834/1

All shots with 10D and 100-400L.

Very nice. I haven't had much luck with the smaller birds yet (probably because I have my 2 dogs with me most the time I'm shooting) Those are ghreat shots though.

Great shots, what a cute bird. Are these ground birds? I hope you dont mind but that blue really is distracting so I had a go at removing it.

They are all very good shots, bobby! I think the third and fourth ones are the best.

Did you take some of these in a single burst of shots? It looks like #3 and #4 are part of a sequence (in which #4 came before #3).

Very nice shots!

I like the first one but my favorite is the last one. You caught him just right!

The #3 & #4 were part of the sequene. Now-a-days, I always keep my camera in continuous mode as you never know what you going to miss.

Thanks for your cloning out the distracting blue. I see these guys running on the ground most of the time.

A very good series. My favorite is the first. Killdeer are always 'hollering' about something.
