Nice one. How close were you? Were you using a big zoom?

I was using a 70-300MM Nikkor ED on a D70. I was driving through Letchworth State park. I didn't even notice them standing on the side of the road but my dogs started barking. I stopped to see what they saw. The mother was standing by herself grazing and gave me time to switch lenses and shoot a bunch of shots. Then the fawn came out and grazed for a while. The doe seemed fine with it 'til I turned my truck off, then she stared right at me and started rutting. That was enough to get the dogs barking again and both the deer just trotted off into the woods.. . .
