No idea on the ID for this one. My friend and I got this picture while looking at bats in a cave under a rural road. As far as size goes, I would estimate that with his legs the way they are now, about the diameter of a baseball.

Wow, it looks like it has a moustache and a beard! I have no idea what kind of spider it is, but it's a cool shot.

my guess that it may be a variety of a wolf spider. they get quite large. was there a web of any kind near it? wolf spiders don't usually have webs.

It's a neat shot of a spider I'd not want to meet in the dark. I'm sorry I don't know what kind it is either, but a good place to go to for identifying them is this site.

Hello, Widowmaker;

I am definately not an expert in spiders. But when I was a kid, these rodent-sized arachnids gave me a life-long case of heebie-jeebies. As far as I knew, they were called wood spiders.

I'll never get to sleep tonight! :O

I am throwing my guess in with...wolf spider. Wolf spiders have one pair of eyes that gives them binocular vision. Those eyes give them the depth perception they need to capture prey.That particulair pair of eyes will also reflect light in the dark, but who wants to get that close to one at night? They hunt down their prey rather than spin webs. Hence the name. A lot of spiders can be identified by the pattern their eyes make, and some by the number of eyes. I came by these facts trying to identify one of the critters myself. Lots of good info on the web. (no pun intended)
