Sitting on a pond waiting for some wood ducks to show up (they didn't).

Finally the sun went down and it was getting dark so I get up to leave at like 15 minutes after sunset. As I am walking out here comes this monster bird buzzing in over my head, the elusive wild blue heron, can't believe it. He lands 20 feet from where I had been sitting for 2 hours, crap!!

So I sneak back up the edge of the pond throw up the camera on the tripod and start clicking at about 50 yards. Camera has a hard time locking in focus it is so dark. So I get home and lighten them up a bit and this is what I got. Guess we have to be happy with what comes out way. It was a pretty exciting encounter.

I enlarged this one a bit cause it is the sharpest and kind of a cool pose.
