Spent a couple hours at the pond tonight. These birds co-operated and landed near by.

Of course I don't know the id on any of them, I just like to take their pictures.

Hi Zoomn;

These are some very nice shots. the detail and saturation are excellent. There are some real experts at bird identification around here. (but don't call them "bird-brains") There are some really interesting feathers around the head of the bird in the third shot. Looks kind of familiar - like something in the jay/cardinal family.

Regards,

Tom, on Point Pelee, Canada

great job zoomn!

i have a question...does your camera have an noise reduction setting?

if you can turn it off, i would suggest you do...it's taking out the details :-\

great job getting close, and with focus and DOF...

just check out that noise reducer...

Thanks to all who responded. Appreciate your positive comments.

Vito I only did noise reduction on the second and fourth shots. I did not do a lot and was careful not to overdo it and lose detail. I just don't think the lighting was good enough to get the really good detail. It was right at sundown and there was a really strong side lighting.

The other two are straight from the camera with a little sharpening.

I don't think there is sharpening in the camera it is set on standard.

Panasonic fz1 camera and c-210 teleconverter like all my shots.
