Here are the original three shots of the flying Curlews. When you flip through the photos one of the birds replaces another in the shot and gives the appearance of stop motion. Tell me what you think.

I think the background is too cluttered. Would be nice to shoot with clean bg or using higer aperture to blur it.

I definitely agree there is too much clutter. This was the first day out with my new camera and I was shooting anything that moved.

Sometimes that stupid background just jumps right out and gets in the way of an otherwise pretty good picture. :G

I'll work on it.

Yes, too much clutter but really nice looking birds and you caught them nice and sharp in the air, especially considering the beaks and distance. You should try to follow some of those around a bit and see if you can't get one taking off or landing nearby.

I think the thing I like about these photos is the mood of a definite goal to go to a specific place that I perceive. Plus the fact that there's no snow. Actually, that last part is probably the most magnetic for me right now. It was 10 above (celcius) here on Friday and today it was 20 below. That's a 30 degree drop in 2 days. Yeah, I think it's the fact that there's no snow in your photo and the birds are not frozen to the trees. My car door froze shut this morning. Guess why I'm not posting any photos.
