Default A New Type of Digiscoping....

What to do when the birds won't cooperate and it's too hot to get down close for macros? How about shooting those macro's from 6000mm? This shot is nothing special except that the little spider subject is about 1/8 inch across and less than 1/4 inch between its front legs. Taken from about 20 feet away at 5989mm with a Nikon CP995 and Meade ETX-90 spotting scope with William Optics 24mm eyepiece. Click on links following image to see perspective on this.....

Default I didn't !

Hey, you caught me! I didn't really know it was there, just saw a spot on the little flower. Then I zoomed all the way to 5989mm and it was pretty clean, even in the LCD.

When I laid the ruler down to shoot the closeup for scale, I didn't even notice the little guy was still there until I brought the image up on the 21" monitor. It's definitely a pretty small spider...

Nice job!

For those times when you just don't feel like getting upclose and personal with a spider.
