Norm, thanks for taking the time to slap on the 1.4x TC, taking some shots, and uploading to here (I know you only have dial-up)! I think that getting these types of images with that setup would surely satisfy me. Of course, you do have the 1dMkII which might make a bit of a difference, but you are still convincing me...

Are all of these BC Chickadees photographed around feeders outside your house? While cleaning out the gutters on my house Saturday I was up on a ladder in and around the branches of a Japanese maple tree and there were two chickadees singing away only about 2 feet from me head. Now where is that darn camera when you could use it the most!
