Another backyard bird photo - hope nobody minds too much. This guy played cat and mouse with me for a long time. He'd tease me by showing himself but never coming out from the cover of the shrub. This was the most exposed I could ever get him.

20D, 300/4 with 1.4x, 1/1000s @ f/8, ISO 400, -1/3 EC, cropped, curves, neatimage, USM.

Thanks, woodmeister!

I hope this guy sticks around. I might put a nesting box up to see if I can't lure him into using it.

Thanks, guys. I'm going to get more chances at this little one, soon I think. Hopefully, I'm going to catch him out from the branches next time!

nice photo, pretty little bird too:-), you know I never had any interest in birds before I got into digital photography, it was birds that got me into the DSLR money pit:-)I used to look at really colorful birds and think "how pretty" but that was about it. Now Im looking for different birds all the time.

I really like the tonal quality throughout this picture. When I first looked I thought it was a sepia. Nicely done.

Thanks, Suzan! Shades of brown happens to be the colors of the season in the area where I live - can't get away from it...
