I found this fellow on the North side of Longboat Pass near Sarasota Florida. He was really patient with me as I navigated a series of docks to set up this shot. I got about 30 frames ; this is one of the best.

Comments are more than welcome.

I like the photo, composition and colors. Sharpness is good background is good.

But the frame/border is so ugly :sad:I would keep it simple. Just a thin white line or white border 25 pixels max. Or something like a subtile drop shadow

Thanks for the comments. This is good to know. I'm in the process of learning how to use Photoshop Actions with Elements, something I didn't even know existed a couple of weeks ago. If you don't like this frame, I'd hate to know what you think of some of my other recent posts. Yikes!

Thanks for the imput.

Lovely photo Tom, and I am drawn particularly to the neck curvature. Framing is quite subjective and I'm sure more than a handful of visitors would consider your framing design to be superb.Simple framing willkeep attention focused on the bird which is the center of interest. However, again, framing is subjective and what may be a bad choice for one will be the cat's meow for another.

Great job on everything!

This is a beautiful photo. It strikes me that the bird is deep in thought......much like the statue "The Thinker". Perhaps he is wondering what on earth this guy is doing running around every where I go??

Thanks for the comments, all. It's always nice to hear comments on an old thread. The truth be known, I am quite proud of this shot. (frame or not :-))

Now, if only my daughter would sit still long enough for me to get a shot of her.

P.S. Julie, I like your new Avatar... looks like your new polarizer is in full effect.

PP.S. Mommy, welcome to the forums.
