Hello All,

Today we visited the beach, Jones Beach, 28 Degrees F.

I wanted to try two lights in photographing the ever present seagulls.

You are invited to check out an 8 shot gallery of my attempt,
including captions of how I set up the shoot.

It was a lot of fun. If you try it make sure you bundle up.

Excellent idea and very successful experiment. With the kind assistance of the outstanding ambient sky and your own lighting setup you have created some exquisite photographs.

It's a shame that the fence and background distractions had to be a part of the experiment. However, some of these could easily be cloned and cropped out of the equation.

Nice job.

They remind me of "Johnathon Livingston Seagull" I think by J.S. Bach. Your birds look painted on the canvas. Very interesting effect.

Hello All,

Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you liked the seagulls.

I used 2 modified Vivitar 285 flashes.

Regards, Nicholas

(P.S, I originally posted to the Sony forum as I always scrolled down the main forum page until I got to Sony, NOT knowing there were more forum categories listed below).
