This redpoll is sizing up my feeder where a flock of siskins have invaded. Not being the agressive type is has to wait its turn. 1/500 at f8.0, iso 200, 360mm, lightened in processing.

Ah, one of my favorite little birds. He may not be aggressive with the siskins but the one's I've seen can give a good little aggressive peck to the chickadees. I guess it's all a matter of who and what you are in the chain.

Nice shot

Taking your advise I 'sharpened' the image using paintshop pro.

Thanks. You have made some subtle improvements to my 'sharpening' which make it a better snap. Sharpening an image is sometimes more than just hitting the sharpening button on a paint program. It is also about the eye so to speak, about the message from the image and other sometimes more esoteric values. I've discovered that you can certainly oversharpen an image and it will take some time, experience and experimentation on my part to bringing a photo to a higher plane. Anyway hanging out on this site and getting 'kindly' feedback will help me improve. Again thanks for the gentle helping hand.
