This gull was having a jolly ol' time. He, as you can see, had this starfish in his yap, and was trying to break it open for dinner. When I got close, he just picked it up and started running around trying to keep me from getting it I guess. He was quite amusing. Enjoy...cheers.......thekman.

Great shots!

Really clear, and TONS of character. Excellent work.

Thanks all. Yes, he was amusing. Gulls are tough to photo usually. Too much white and hard to meter, but this one wasn't as bright. Have to use spot metering most of the time. Cheers.....thekman.

The explanation for the Gull having a hard time with the Starfish, is that they have evolved to eat stale white bread. Thus, he was perplexed with this "unnatural food." :-)

But I like the contrast of the colors. A wonderful series...

I really enjoy shots like this where you have frozen a special moment in time, and the humorous ones are my favorites...this is one of those moments. Technically you have done real fine too. I copied and pasted the top one into my paint program to see what it would look like sharpened just a slight touch more and it sharpened well. I wouldn't say it needs more sharpening because that is totally subjective. I'd love to have seen this wrestling matchin real time.

Thanks Normcar. A compliment from an expert like yourself is heady to say the least. I was lucky to be there, and lucked out on the settings. I actually sharpened these a little bit too-very little though. Glad you enjoyed them...Cheers......thekman
