Wow, zoomn, excellent job. Now I know where you've been for the past week...waiting for that heron to swallow the fish :G

It takes a good photographer to be in the right place at the right time and actually capture the right photograph. You've done it all here. Absolutely special.

The whole sequence took about 20 minutes from the time he caught the fish to when he was done swallowing it. If it had weighed two more ounces I don't think he could have gotten it down.

Interesting. I've seen herons catch smaller fish that they had to release. That carp, based on body configuration, had to be at least 4 pounds, perhaps 18, 20 inches long.
