not sure what kind of bird this is, but a pair of them have been building this elaborate nest in an alder tree in my back yard. i finally caught one of them peering out the door...

someone told me it's a bushtit, and after some research, i believe it is. the nest is quite elaborate, and is apparently held together with spider web! i bet the local spider population gets tired of having their webs hijacked to make birdie condos with! in any case, i'll be watching this nest over the course of the spring and summer - it's only about 30 feet from my back door - and with luck, i may be able to post pics of mom and dad teaching junior to fly!

Oh Im looking forward to some baby bird shots, the kind where they have no feathers yet:-)If possible. Thats one kind of shot Ive seen little of in here.

considering this nest is like a gunny sack with a hole at the top for a door, and there's no way to peer inside,i probably won't be able to get a shot like that of these little guys.
