Hello all

This is my first post here. Have been lurking around heavily though, trying to learn photography after I bought my first camera ever last fall.

These are from a safari, taken with Panasonic fz20 mostly in Serengeti.

Hello Pekka and welcome to the forum. For being new to photography you sure have learned a lot very quickly. These are some very nice pictures, sharp andcrisp and all with nice colors. Its always good to see these strange lookingcreatures from the other side of the planet so keep them coming as they will be enjoyed.

G'day Pekka,

Great shots! Once again we see the excellence of the Pansonic FZ20, even in the hands of a declared newcomer to photgraphy. What inspired you to get the FZ20 for a first camera? Seems like a good choice. Good to see your efforts on the forum.

Most interesting shots ive seen for awhile, espially the monkey. Roncur is right about the amazing quality which this camera constantly produces.

Houston, roncur and twofruitz:

Thank you all. After looking the photos people tend to show here I really battled myself to build up the courage to upload my own. These were taken two months ago...

roncur:

At the point of purchase I had already decided to go to Tanzania, so I knew I needed lot of zoom. I felt there was no way I could learn to use something as complex as a dslr, and therefor needed some other solution. Fz20 seemed quite logical choice (and now i'm lying: I could not decide between fx20 and KM z3 so I bought them both. During the safari trip I mainly used Fz20 for stills and KM z3 for video). Also getting a dslr AND lenses with ample tele would have been too costly considering the amount of money the trip itself took (two non dslr cameras did cost a lot less).
