I took this Monday. i was in my truck and saw a hawk which seemed like it was going to land in a tree. Well, I jumped out of my truck (more like fell out) and saw the hawk making a loop around the swamp. I forgot how to set all the autofocus points and used it on center point. took a burst of 4 using the 100-400mm zoom. This was what I got after some crude PP. I'm happy as a first pic but, hope to get a lot better.

Hey Dennis, congratulations on the hawk shot, and a nice one at that. The only thing is that it's resolution seems to be very low and causes the work to be too pixilated. Had the resolution not been reduced so much the posting would be much more successful IMO. It's a very good shot but you can't see it very well because of this.

Norm, thanx!!! It's a crop and I had to save it in as extremely low for it to fit the attachment criteria. After posting I really took a look at it and it really is quite poor. I am going to try to improve it and if I can get it better, repost it.

looks like we are both in the same boat, first shots of a similar bird and they come out darkish, however this is a really good shot.
