i believe it's abutterfly...
because of the bulbed ends of the antennae..

nice shot :-D

That would be a butterfly, having the club-shaped antennae. It is specifically a Painted Lady, Vanessa cardui(scientific name). Larva prefer to feed on thistles, but visit lots of other plants.

I'll say it's a butterfly too because moths are stupid......flying into flames and lightbulbs and all that.

I have to admit that that this butterfly was feeling under the weather, so getting shots were fairly easy. He seems slightly confused that I haven't made a meal of him yet.
