Some of these backgrounds were touched up because the light grey background was competing with the subjects for attention so I decided to do something about it. I apologize to those out there who disagree with photo tampering to this degree.

400/5.6L and Mark II; no pods; shutter 1/1000; aperture wide open; ISO 400

I believe this is the female because the talons are smaller and more petite than the other (however, I guess it may be the other way around, I'm just guessing in ignorance):

Super shots, Norm. I think these could be used for a bird anatomy class. It looks like he's looking right at you in most of the shots.

Man oh man, these are the best closeups I have seen. The 3rd one is real awesome. Iwould improve with some local sharpening in the eyes.

Awesome pics as usual!

The first and second one look likehe turned his head to face the camera. Any techniques to make this happen? :lol:Maybe some of these birds like tospy on talented photographers. :-)

Stunning angles and flight attitude on the final shot. I truly enjoy your work.

Thomas.

Really interesting photos Normcar. I like the detail of the closeups.

Artistically the last photo is by far my favorite. I love how the wing set came out for you. REally nice!!

Thanks a whole bunch you all for taking a look at the Osprey. I'm really enjoying this bird and you'll probably get sick of seeing it over the next few months. I appreciate all of the compliments and suggestions as well. Some of you are probably slightly put off by the tight crop and cutting off of wings and things like that but the main intention of this string was to get up as close as possible. I'll be backing off a bit in some future posts of this bird so I hope you have a look at future shots too.
